so im starting to blog less and less, i generally fear that i might be the only one reading it, and trust me i dont read my blog so there... i have a follower on it but i dunno how often she reads it. maybe ill get a comment on this eh?

open sesame

so today, well... yesterday, i made sesame chicken for dinner for everyone, and it turned out great, but i came to the conclusion that its not too great for you what with the 4 cups of sugar i had to add and all, but then again, i could likely have made half as much sauce and we'd have been fine. i made it without chicken broth for ariel and it still turned out great, but ive not had it with chicken broth yet, so who knows eh? maybe this will have been better. but the funny thing was the cans were clearly labelled as 'vegetarian' vegetable broth, as though there was another kind. i also threw in some peanuts for kicks and giggles.

they're watching you

so today i fed the missionaries some chinese food that i delicately hand made myself, it was good, but a humorous thing happened, another elder called them during the meal asking if they had found a watch when they left that he had left behind on a prior exchange. im pretty sure he wasnt actually yelling out of anger or anything, im sure it was mostly sarcastic but i could hear him from the other side of the room yelling that he 'wanted his watch back', cause 'since they moved to a new place and took everything that they must have it'. and poor elder de souza i dont know if he realized he was joking if he even was so i asked for the phone and my conversation with this elder jamison went something like this (it may be slightly different because i forget things, and i changed the other elders name to protect the him)...

me- hello, what seems to be the problem?
elder jamison (ej)- i want my dang watch back!
me- i guess i dont know about you, but i wear my watch on my wrist and when i take it off i make sure to remember it when i go somewhere right?
ej- who is this?
me- my name is nathan doyle, the missionaries are having dinner at my place when you called, youre quite loud, i can hear you from the other side of the room. now when i wear a watch i usually keep it on my wrist, you do too right?
ej- yes (i could tell he sounded a little worried)
me- so if you left it behind you had to take it off right?
ej- yes (i wonder if he thought i was going to call the mission pres)
me- so ill tell you what, if they find it ill have them tell you.
ej- i just wanted my watch back
me- well dont worry, im sure that if they find it they will let you know... ok?
(i hung up on him)

the greenie that was with elder do souza, elder zufelt or feltman or someting, im so bad with names, thought what i did was so cool and the greenie game me a high five. and they liked the food, so i was happy. the end.

disappearances

so on wednesday we had someone at work walk out at lunch, and since he was already skating on very thin ice and on the verge of being fired anyhow, when he called the next morning he was told that he shouldnt bother to come back to work, so, instead of working 1000 to 630 thew wanted me to work a closing shift, i accepted, cause im such a nice guy, even though i had to miss west coast swing that night. so this morning they asked me to come in again, but i gotta clean and feed the missionaries so i couldnt and it would have racked me up some overtime, but tomorrowthey wanted me too and more overtime, so im working someone elses 1130 to 800 shift. yay for overtime monies! now i just need someone to spend it on other than myself.

Ok Cupid has revamped and remade their politics test, where they ask you a couple of questions, none of which are hot button issues, and try to gauge where you fall on the political spectrum, i took this test about 2 years ago and decided to take it again. I have changed a little but not much, last time I took it my results were 31% socially permissive and 50% economically permissive, seems that I've become more economically permissive in these last couple of years.

Also, when you take the test itself on the site they have a bunch of peoples faces on the graph to demonstrate who you fall under, the new version includes both candidates, albeit not their veeps, and several other prominent figures, like Darth Vader on the totalitarian side, and a bunch of other people I don't really recognize.

so today we were going to go dancing but due to a lack of vehicular transport we werent really able to, but we did manage to deliver the cookies to SaR today, and that made them happy, which made me happy. so... that's that eh?
